RFRF Awareness Ribbons
The Wellness Fund is an effort by the Roswell First Responders Foundation to bolster the mental and physical wellness of our first responders including firefighters, police, EMS and 911 operators. Across the nation, first responders are suffering from a higher rate of mental illness, divorce, PTSD, addiction, and suicide risk than the general population. Due to sleep schedules and stress they are also at higher risk for diabetes, weight gain, and sleep disorders. It is a crisis that few know about. Many spend significant chunks of time away from their loved ones due to long shifts or challenging shift times.
Our goal is to raise awareness and community support for our first responders in Roswell with our patriotic mailbox ribbons that will be displayed during four weeks each year (Memorial Day, July 4th, September 11th and Veteran’s Day). Ribbons will be gifted with a $35 donation to the new Wellness Fund. We look forward to hosting social and educational events for responders and their families as a way to further augment the mental health services provided through the City. The Fund will also be used as requested by leadership for innovative projects and resources that will help improve the whole body health and wellness of our first responders.
Thank you for being a part of the solution to the challenges that many first responders face over the course of their careers serving our communities.
